I created all these art cards with only 4 different pulls! 3 per card, as I had two sizes of spider. I realized part way through I could easily mimic many spidermen by just changing the colors, so I made “Civil War” spider man, as well as Miles Morales.
They were made by layering first: spider, second: head, and third: web details and eye borders. In some cases, I used a paper mask to keep ink out of the area where the head would be. I chose not to use opaque inks, which is why you can see the spider peaking through on the cards where I didn’t use the mask, and its the reason that the web details on the Miles Morales mask are a darker red.
I made a total of 66 4×6 cards, which took two days of printing. Art cards are something I would highly recommend playing around with one day, as the many pulls of the same prints get you into a beautiful rhythm of registration.
